Incoming Students Fall of 2007-2008

Dear Parents:

I would like to warmly introduce myself as your child’s second grade teacher. My name is Mr. Baker. As we welcome the new school year, this will be an opportunity for me to get to know you and your children. This first week of school will give you an insight on what I expect from my students and my expectations as a teacher.
To begin, parental involvement is vital to achieving our students with a high quality education. For us to reach this goal parents, I urge you to participate and/or volunteer in school programs or functions. This will give you an overall view to examine our objectives and dedication to servicing your children.
Furthermore parents’ discipline is important when creating a positive learning environment. Below are the rules to room 202. Please review these regulations with your children, so they are acclimated to them during the first five weeks of school.

Rules

Students are to be prompt and to school on time and standing in their designated at 7:50a.m.
Students are to respect each other
Students are to listen and follow instructions
Students are to have their pencils sharpen before class

Verbal Warning
Teacher, parent conference
Teacher, parent, and principal conference
Suspension

Reminders

Please review all tests and have them correct it in red ink. Students retain information longer by learning from their mistakes.
In addition, parents please review the dolch word list with your child that is attached to this news letter. Dolch words are words that are in all reading material. Reviewing these words daily will strengthen your child’s reading fluency. I will randomly quiz students for mastery.
